Times you want to be wrong

As we watch the news, unfolding events and overall actions in the new administration of Obama, our U. S. House of Representatives and Senate, it now appears many of us weren’t wrong about our concerns with what the next 4 years will do to further worsen our country. Our economy is in shambles

Love, Life and Expectation

This I wrote in a sorta book I call "Hi". In writing my thoughts, feelings about our son we lost, my wife's ordeal and reflecting on myself during these years now passed I thought it might help others

Some sayings of mine my friends say I need to share

The true essence of life is how those you love remember you!

If you live life in the fast lane, don’t look back!

God blessed everyone with a gift, what you gain is in how you give it!

If God hadn’t intended man to fish he wouldn’t have made earth 2/3rds water.

If a plane has to have the right attitude to achieve lift, don’t people?

Experience is when ya get what ya weren’t after!

Being naked must mean your honestly open minded!

Be surprised how many men feel love and lust are just a matter of inches!

I have never yet met a mirror I liked!

Chinese tell us we are like the animal of our birth sign, no wonder people tell me Whoa when I’m in gittyup!

When a true friend kicks you in the behind it’s to give you a lift!

You know your skinny when you have to move around in the shower to get wet!

Women know men better than men know women? Oh no they don‘t, we wouldn’t give birth to more than one child!

Pain must be a condition of mind over matter, if we don’t mind it don’t matter!

Difference between a Politician and a Con Artist is a prison term!

Why don’t they ever call it a Divorce Ceremony?

How come we see some of the fattest people in line for food stamps?

I never drink anything that says Diet, the first 3 letters tells ya all ya need to know!

It’s because of those that tell ya to walk a mile in my shoes, I wear boots!

Lots of folks wonder what makes a cowhand tick, Cowhands just wanna get rid of’em!

Men like golf cause they can play with their balls and not get funny looks!

Texans don’t have an accent, we have a drawl!

A poem I wrote for my Kids

DADly Dumb
My greatest joy in this world has to be you, my boys and girls
To know in my own way, the love I found on your birth days
In my heart to forever feel, a more truer love than you fulfill
A Grand’er Father, this I be, through your Mothers love I see
Why every precious moment in someway touches me each day
So special in your own way, joy and tears, your wonder years
Trying my best to help you grow, not always in what I know
For what you feel deep inside is most important in your stride
each step on life’s highway to lift and guide you along the way
I often pray you find amusing why I can be so darn confusing
And just as often why I say, “you kids are raising me every day”
In your heart be understanding of the times I’m so demanding
Emotions I don’t show yet some how, some way you will know
I was not always there at times, this you know in your mind
most important in your heart is how you feel what I support
Times of crisis when I show the love I have to give so you know
a perfect father cannot be said, but the Father I am is your DAD!

Bossy Women make Good Husbands
And verse visa
We all know what sometimes starts as a joke can make cents outta dollars.
Now what’s in this book is some of whatcha might call EXperience. Yep with a big ole EX too! My definition is “when ya git what ya weren’t after“ chalk that one up to EXperience, it’s definitely that too. Now this collaboration in cohabitation might not be for all parties unconcern’d but a few with enuff concern so we can get on with whatever, whenever and our whomever without any common MISSconceptions. Short of being some kind of magician this can be some trick too! Today in our so called society of social bliss, we have more folks, ways, means and information about relationships than in the history of mankind or I like to say WOmankind! Our dipsy’s can have more doodles than bugs in our rug burns. No longer are the seeds of relational bliss planted in just I do’s we have some major I don’ts, wont’s, ain’ts and can’ts.
I’m certainly not going to say I will ever totally understand women. Any man thinks he does has to be deaf, dumb, blind or about as real as a Stephen Speilberg movie. What we do is adapt, accept or at best grin and bare it. The baring it is the easy part if all we had to do was stay naked but that just ain’t happening. Somewhere tween those moments of desire, lust, love, fun, frolic and fondle’n lies the real nature of women. They don’t just want sex they want sensitivity, softness, caring, security, affection and more attention than most men could hold during their favorite past time. Women are just downright demanding as if their mothers weren’t enough. Most women truly believe they are smarter than men and I’m one that can resemble that remark. Sure we love’em, kiss’em, hug’em and squeeze’em in the hope that’s what it takes to keep’em smile’n. More often than not we are reminded of the exact day and time we first met, held hands, kissed and Lord only knows what else that’s seemingly important to them but about as important to us as what Bill is in a Congressional Subcommittee. We really don’t care, much less remember, but when we don’t know the answer we might as well have started WW111 cause all hell can break loose and we haven’t a clue why or what’s such a big deal. I think I know why and it’s because they want us to feel dumb, make ya sit back and think just so they know they are working some brain matter they really don’t believe exists. We, of course maybe not soon enough, make sure we do some’n to appease our self inflicted sense of humor’n em. So we go get’em flowers, some form of jewelry or whatever we believe gets us out of this doghouse of guilt for some’n we will never understand much less comprehend. Pavlov’s dog couldn’t be reduced from a bite to a bark any faster than a woman gains control of our minds, course she’ll say what MIND?

Crisis of Perception

This is something I wrote in February, 2008. Little did I know how profound it was at the time and what it is now.

Crisis of Perception
Today our world is facing what we could call a “crisis of or in perception”. Our world is each of us, you, me and every human on this planet. What we perceive or led to believe is what we feel is reality. Today I ask simply what is “REAL”. From global warming to massive debt ridden economic situations and concerns. Massive population growth eroding natural resources and the very environment we hope will continue to sustain our lives. One truth is each person on earth is very real and what we need to sustain us in the form of our natural resources is certainly real. We all need food, water, shelter and some form of value to obtain necessities for us to live, hopefully not just survive in the process. The form of value is money and money is currency and currency is merely a piece of paper with a value as long as someone accepts it as such. Amid all this today we have a society functioning on debt. The ability, or better, the availability of governments, companies and each of us to use debt in order to have money. Now let’s discuss “perception” as reality in the world today.
To be truly “successful” in America today all you need is to have money or appear to have it. To do that you need credit and when one credit bubble bursts along comes another one as long as you continue to be “perceived” as having value. Where or how is this value perceived?. Today the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) has a debt margin at a record high of $285 billion. Global mergers and acquisitions (funded with debt) have reached an all time high of more than $1 trillion and this has happened in just a matter of months. Global debt has increased 5 times faster than the world’s Gross National Product (GNP). Corporate bonds have increased at the rate of 22%. Junk bonds are up 30%. Leveraged buyouts according to the Bloomberg report are up 40% and all this with financiers collecting $2 billion in fees. Where does all this money come from? Are people saving so much money that banks have an extra trillion to lend to money shufflers? No, of course not. We have “hedge funds” which cover ¾’s of “junk bond” debt. The world’s credit system is no longer controlled by banks thus not controlled by bank regulators. There are these huge, dark “pools of liquidity” outside of the banking system. How do they work? I really don’t know but we do know they seemingly make the world a richer place. Wall Street, Media moguls and especially our politicians in Washington are working double-time to convince us the U.S. economy is much richer than it really is. In this deep-in-debt economy, the kind of disinformation or misinformation is becoming increasingly harmful to “REAL” wealth and investment. Incidents such as Enron and more recently New Century Financial are examples of “perception” vs. “reality”.
The real world for the average American is more and more a matter of dealing with frustration. They drive more even though oil has climbed back over $65 and gasoline is at record prices. Americans today tend to borrow and spend more even amid a rising lack of confidence in politicians, governments, companies or their own future ability to pay the debt being incurred. States like Florida are experiencing declining tax revenues for the first time in over 30 years. I don’t always believe statistics as they can be manipulated, however it doesn’t take a poll or science to know America is engulfed in mass confusion. The haves greatly outnumber the have-nots and the percentage today is wider than it’s been since the 1920’s. Mankind by nature is a collective animal.
Black vs. white, democrat vs. republican, Protestant vs. Catholic, Muslim vs. Christian, lower income vs. upper income, liberal vs. conservative. All aroused, stirred and driven by a collective desire to improve their life. The security of a good job, trust in the ability of those elected to manage and control their needs and concerns have all but slipped away as silently as a thief in the night. Home sweet home, Moms apple pie has become far too crusty!
How many of you today trust bankers, lawyers, doctors, even ministers? You still go to church, borrow money, feel a need for a lawyer or doctor but do you still have complete faith and trust in your action or do you just hope and pray?

Fear and Doubt

This is an excerpt from a book I wrote and thought I would share it. No, I have never published the book which I titled "HI".

Fear and Doubt
Why?
“Fear not thou art with me”. Have you ever felt those words in your heart? I felt those words in a poem I wrote as it flowed through my fingertips. We aren’t born with fear or doubt. If you don’t see this then watch a child and why we say NO so many times it almost scares us watching what a child will get into as they start testing their ability to move and find things. In a way, we create fear and doubt in a child because we know they need to learn what can hurt them. What started of the MIND as we learn can just as easily become a FEELING in our BEING. FEAR and DOUBT are very, very significant barriers to how one FEELS and grows in their HEART. These FEELINGS so often become of the MIND to protect our HEART but we “think” we FEEL it in our HEART. FEAR and DOUBT are NOT feelings in our HEART. These are negative FEELINGS and when you begin to allow FEAR and DOUBT to enter your MIND you subconsciously begin a process that is one of the most difficult to ever remove in what one “thinks” they FEEL in their HEART. So many truly believe and will tell you I don’t fear or doubt any FEELINGS in my HEART. They may say I know this because I FEEL so much LOVE in my HEART for others and I don’t FEAR or DOUBT it. This is TRUTH and it is HONEST in the truth as they know and FEEL it. We know these people and they are beautiful in every sense of the word. All of us question and if our questions are of the MIND in what we do to perform or make decisions in work, business or whatever else, we accomplish these best without FEAR. We EXPLORE possibilities and options critical to what we FEEL to succeed or be successful. When you do this, are you attempting to remove any FEAR or DOUBT? If the answer is NO, then you have no barrier to success. Your HEART and MIND are clear, open and in harmony with your BEING. You had no expectations yet you explored options in a positive manner to FEEL a situation, person or whatever you were questioning. Many people harbor FEAR and DOUBT and just as many use it to manipulate others. Not realizing how it is restricting their very BEING even when they FEEL LOVE. This FEAR and DOUBT may have formed as a protection during their early childhood. Parents, teachers, friends and relatives can and do cause FEAR and DOUBT when they impose negative FEELINGS on children. This occurs in so many ways and just as often very innocently. When it hits hard at a child’s self esteem, dreams, hopes, desires, passion, purpose it causes questions in their BEING of WHO AM I? As adults this FEELING is part of their BEING and they carry this baggage of “WHO AM I?” in every aspect of their life. This FEAR and DOUBT is so formed in FEELINGS of their MIND it is relentless in holding them from ever being truly happy and content as human BEINGS.

Texas Secession facts & arguments

As you may or may not be aware, Governor Perry recently mentioned a possibility of Texas secession which many in the media quickly mentioned this isn't an option or right of Texas. In order to put forth the facts and arguments including the U.S. Supreme Court decision in this regard I submit the following for your information and knowledge.

Texas Secession Facts
Q: Doesn't the Texas Constitution reserve the right of Texas to secede?
A: No such provision is found in the current Texas Constitution[1](adopted in 1876) or
the terms of annexation.[2] However, it does state (in Article 1, Section 1) that
"Texas is a free and independent State, subject only to the Constitution of the United
States..." (note that it does not state "...subject to the President of the United
States..." or "...subject to the Congress of the United States..." or "...subject to the
collective will of one or more of the other States...")
Neither the Texas Constitution, nor the Constitution of the United States, explicitly
or implicitly disallows the secession of Texas (or any other "free and independent
State") from the United States.
Joining the "Union" was ever and always voluntary,
rendering voluntary withdrawal an equally lawful and viable option (regardless of
what any self-appointed academic, media, or government "experts"—including
Abraham Lincoln himself—may have ever said).
Both the original (1836) and the current (1876) Texas Constitutions also state that
"All political power is inherent in the people ... they have at all times the inalienable
right to alter their government in such manner as they might think proper."
Likewise, each of the united States is "united" with the others explicitly on the
principle that "governments derive their just powers from the consent of the
governed" and "whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these
ends [i.e., protecting life, liberty, and property], it is the right of the people to alter
or to abolish it, and to institute new government" and "when a long train of abuses
and usurpations...evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is
their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards
for their future security." [3]
Q: Didn’t the outcome of the “Civil War” prove that secession is not an option for
any State?
A: No. It only proved that, when allowed to act outside his lawfully limited authority,
a U.S. president is capable of unleashing horrendous violence against the lives,
liberty, and property of those whom he pretends to serve. The Confederate States
(including Texas) withdrew from the Union lawfully, civilly, and peacefully, after
enduring several decades of excessive and inequitable federal tariffs (taxes) heavily
prejudiced against Southern commerce.[4] Refusing to recognize the Confederate
secession, Lincoln called it a "rebellion" and a "threat" to "the government" (without
ever explaining exactly how "the government" was "threatened" by a lawful, civil,
and peaceful secession) and acted outside the lawfully defined scope of either the
office of president or the U.S. government in general, to coerce the South back into
subjugation to Northern control.[5]
The South's rejoining the Union at the point of a bayonet in the late 1860s didn't
prove secession is "not an option" or unlawful. It only affirmed that violent
coercion can be used—even by governments (if unrestrained)—to rob men of their
very lives, liberty, and property.[6]
It bears repeating that the United States are "united" explicitly on the principle that
"governments derive their just powers from the consent of the governed" and
"whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends [i.e.,
protecting life, liberty, and property], it is the right of the people to alter or to
abolish it, and to institute new government" and "when a long train of abuses and
usurpations...evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their
right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for
their future security." [7]
Q: Didn’t the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Texas v. White prove that secession
is unconstitutional?
A: No. For space considerations, here are the relevant portions of the Supreme Court's
decision in Texas v. White:
"When Texas became one of the United States, she entered into an indissoluble
relation. The union between Texas and the other States was as complete, as
perpetual, and as indissoluble as the union between the original States. There was no
place for reconsideration or revocation, except through revolution or through
consent of the States.
"...The obligations of the State, as a member of the Union ...remained perfect and
unimpaired. ...the State did not cease to be a State, nor her citizens to be citizens of
the Union.
"...Our conclusion therefore is, that Texas continued to be a State, and a State of the
Union."
— Texas v. White, 74 U.S. 700, 703 (1868)
It is noteworthy that two years after that decision, President Grant signed an act
entitling Texas to U.S. Congressional representation, readmitting Texas to the
Union.
What's wrong with this picture? Either the Supreme Court was wrong in claiming
Texas never actually left the Union (they were — see below), or the Executive
(President Grant) was wrong in "readmitting" a state that, according to the Supreme
Court, had never left. Both can't be logically or legally true.
To be clear: Within a two year period, two branches of the same government took
action with regard to Texas on the basis of two mutually exclusive positions — one,
a judicially contrived "interpretation" of the US Constitution, argued essentially
from silence, and the other a practical attempt to remedy the historical fact that
Texas had indeed left the Union, the very evidence for which was that Texas had
recently met the demands imposed by the same federal government as prerequisite
conditions for readmission. If the Supreme Court was right, then the very notion of
prerequisites for readmission would have been moot — a state cannot logically be
readmitted if it never left in the first place.
This gross logical and legal inconsistency remains unanswered and unresolved to
this day.
Now to the Supreme Court decision in itself...
The Court, led by Chief Justice Salmon Chase (a Lincoln cabinet member and
leading Union figure during the war against the South) pretended to be analyzing
the case through the lens of the Constitution, yet not a single element of their logic
or line of reasoning came directly from the Constitution — precisely because the
Constitution is wholly silent on whether the voluntary association of a plurality of
states into a union may be altered by the similarly voluntary withdrawal of one or
more states.
It's no secret that more than once there had been previous rumblings about secession
among many U.S. states (and not just in the South), long before the South seceded.
These rumblings met with no preemptive quashing of the notion from a
"constitutional" argument, precisely because there was (and is) no constitutional
basis for either allowing or prohibiting secession.
An objective reading of the relevant portions of the White decision reveals that it is
largely arbitrary, contrived, and crafted to suit the agenda which it served:
presumably (but unconstitutionally) to award to the U.S. federal government, under
color of law, sovereignty over the states, essentially nullifying their right to selfdetermination
and self-rule, as recognized in the Declaration of Independence, as
well as the current Texas Constitution (which stands unchallenged by the federal
government).
Where the Constitution does speak to the issue of powers, they resolve in favor of
the states unless expressly granted to the federal government or denied to the states.
No power to prevent or reverse secession is granted to the federal government, and
the power to secede is not specifically denied to the states; therefore that power is
retained by the states, as guaranteed by the 10th Amendment.

The Texas v. White case is often trotted out to silence secessionist sentiment, but on
close and contextual examination, it actually exposes the unconstitutional, despotic,
and tyrannical agenda that presumes to award the federal government, under color
of law, sovereignty over the people and the states.

A Poll was taken by a group identified as Rasmussen which said 75% of Texans are not in favor of Secession. I'd debate that Polls result or at the very least wonder if those polled are truly Texans.
Q: Is Texas really ripe for a secession movement?
A: Probably not (yet). Texans generally aren't the rugged, independent, libertyconscious
folks they once were. Like most Americans, they happily acquiesce to
the U.S. government's steady theft of their rights and property via unlawful statutes,
programs, and activities.
Unfamiliar with historical or legal details, being largely products of public (i.e.,
government) "education," today's Texans easily adopt the "politically correct" myths
that litter the landscape of American popular opinion. Many don't even know what
the word secede means, and believe that the United States is a "democracy" (hint:
it's not)[8].
But public opinion and ignorance won't stop us from suggesting that secession is
still a good idea for people who value their rights and personal liberty more highly
than the temporal affluence, comfort, and false security provided by the U.S.
welfare/warfare state. By raising public awareness of even the concept of secession,
we hope they might plant seeds that will some day yield a new resolve among
Texans for liberty and self-government.
Q: How would Texas—and Texans—benefit from secession?
A: In many ways. Over the past century-and-a-half the United States government has
awarded itself ever more power (but not the lawful authority) to meddle with the
lives, liberty, and property of the People of Texas (as well as those of the other
States).
Sapping Texans' wealth into a myriad of bureaucratic, socialist schemes both in the
U.S. and abroad, the bipartisan despots in Washington persists in expanding the
federal debt and budget deficits every year. Texans would indeed gain much by
reclaiming control of their State, their property, their liberty, and their very lives, by
refusing to participate further in the fraud perpetrated by the Washington politicians
and bureaucrats.
By restoring Texas to an independent republic, Texans would truly reclaim a
treasure for themselves and their progeny.

Mind if this ole Texan rants a bit, hope not cause it's in my upbring'n!

UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL
Unfortunately and due in great part to a generation, of which I am one, that has allowed our government and political parties to become a quagmire of self/special interest with little or no regard for our future generations. Politics has become a world of compromise, deception, misperception, misdirection, power and greed. Somewhere along the way, the promises, the hopes, the dreams of so many politically motivated men and women lost the meaning of some very powerful words which were the foundation of this great country. “Trust”, “Faith”, “Duty”, “Honor”, “Country”. Many use these words but just as many abuse these words. The very freedoms we hold dear have become a politically rhetorical launching pad for every cause, event or circumstance. So many issues of great concern to the majority of American citizens today are resting in the hands of men and women in the legislative, judicial and executive branches of our government unresolved due to political nonsense over common sense.
I believe if we as a Nation remember and follow the words of our founding Fathers as written in the Constitution, one Nation unto God, restore our commitment and resolve to be responsible and accountable as citizens, political or otherwise. Identify, prioritize and address the issues and hopefully elect people who will work to restore the integrity, purpose and commitment necessary to resolve the many problems facing our country. The problems are almost as numerous as the size of our government and when we begin a process of reducing government we will begin reducing our problems.
For those of you interested enough to read on, I’m going to elaborate on some of the historical decisions/events which I personally believe have led us to our current state of affairs. Since I was born in 1942 our country has managed to survive a World War, conflicts (Korea & Vietnam) and innumerable operations (overt and covert) in many parts of the world. World War 2 did much to unite our country and inspired Americans and our economy leading us to become the most industrialized nation in the world. In the mid to late 50’s we enjoyed a balanced budget and we based our currency on the gold standard. Television had become an interesting phenomenon in our society. The mafia had established a gambling glittery Mecca known as Las Vegas. Democrats in the south were by in large conservative. Our military minds were at odds with then President Harry Truman thus the election of General Dwight David Eisenhower in 1956. During this time much of our current political climate was forming as was the use of television in advertising. Image and perception were becoming reality to many who were previously influenced by voices on the radio, newspaper columnists, movies and more importantly parents and teachers. Our society was changing as fast as those who could influence the Washington bureaucracy. It was an era in which most mainstream Americans had some trust in their lawyer, banker, minister and to a great degree their elected officials. Men and women worked but most families didn’t have both parents working to make a living. If they did it was an option not as much a necessity. Nearly all Americans were aware of varying causes or concerns such as civil/equal rights, labor unions, communism and the threat of nuclear war. The CIA and the FBI, along with a number of military intelligence organizations were our primary deterrents to protect our national interests. One noteworthy point was Eisenhower’s appointment of Earl Warren to the United States Supreme Court. Eisenhower was advised to agree to appoint Warren in order to get elected. This decision was probably the most troubling one he ever faced after being elected. Our economy seemed to be sound, plenty of jobs, new products, goods and services going into the 60’s. Today as we look back, hindsight 20/20, there were many situations either developing or developed through political persuasion. Government subsidies, media campaigns to heighten, enlighten or frighten public awareness in a direction of varying self interest groups. The election of John F. Kennedy in 1960 was a strong indication of changing times. Not only the youngest President ever elected, he was the first Catholic ever elected President. JFK, along with his brother Bobby as United States Attorney General, began to make some of the older established political allies nervous. LBJ wasn’t one to ever be under the influence of a Kennedy nor were many of his colleagues and constituents in the halls of the Senate, Congress and Judicial departments within our government. I will always believe JFK would have made a difference had it not been for some of his brothers actions as Attorney General and LBJ as Vice-President. I also don’t believe LBJ would have ever achieved Presidential office had it not been for JFK’s death. Those circumstances have been widely reviewed, studied and discussed and no one can dispute the mystery surrounding that event. The Warren Commission was a joke but it was absolutely necessary to quickly thwart any efforts that could undermine the highest office in our country. Subsequent to LBJ taking over as President, he began a series of legislation and actions unparalleled in our nation’s history. To fund the Vietnam war and LBJ’s so called “Great Society” the Social Security Trust fund was placed in the General fund. We came off the gold standard to enable our Treasury to print more money. For the first time since Roosevelt, a President was totally influencing all branches of government. LBJ appeared to the poor and downtrodden as some sort of savior with more give away programs than we had money. Since he had created such public dissention with the escalation of the Vietnam war he felt compelled to go down in history as a great President. Robert McNamara, Secretary of Defense, was a master at deceptive economics. Bill Moyers was an established liberal and effectively working social reform and communication as White House Press Secretary. LBJ was a master politician surrounded by capable people believing in his ideals or at the very least using them. Anyone who viewed LBJ’s public announcement that he wouldn’t seek another term of office knew this was a beaten man. His legacy is one of creating public political distrust, abuse of power and laying the groundwork for big government spending without accountability. A politically motivated abyss was formed between government and the people. The desire for “Political Party Gain” became the rule of government over the need for effective and efficient management. This continues today as it did thru the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s.
A few questions in which I am continually amazed how these people stay on the forefront of our political and social stage:
Ted Kennedy, an icon in the U.S. Senate. Surely anyone aware of this man’s character in the Chappaquiddick incident resulting in the death of Mary Jo Kopechne wouldn’t give him the time of day much less elect him to represent you.
Reverend Jesse Jackson, political activist. His main career throughout his life has and is to keep blacks and whites stirred up over anything he can using the race card. He has done far more harm than good to the real needs, causes, growth, self esteem and integrity of black people in this country.
Now we have our first black President, Barrack Hussein Obama, An eloquent and effective speaker with some questionable ability in his associations and a few nominations. During his relatively short political career he appears to be once again more interested in “party gain”, promotion of helping those who best serve and can keep the Democratic Party in power. The real question to most true middle class American tax payers is how do we pay for all the abuse, greed, inefficiency, corruption, unaccountability and a monumental amount of money being printed without any basis for value. Anyone who truly believes government can and will manage anything cost effectively is living in the dark ages.
But what do I know!
God bless US!

Texas Hold'em

TEXAS HOLD’em
There’s this game start’d years ago, some say, right near San Antonio
Others claim it was more out west, Midland, Odessa or San Angelo
No matter where originally seen, today it’s play’d on yo’re t.v. screen
Variety of folks now enjoy what started with just’a few good ole boys
This game, back then, weren’t just for fun, most of’em carried a gun
Winners, cheaters could get hurt, often find’em face down in the dirt
Gamblers then weren’t about fame, take’n yo’re money was their game
Some were good, some were bad but one thang in common they all had
Read your eyes, any twitch in your play, test’n yo’re grit in every way
Benny Binion had a plan so in 1970 the “World Series of Poker” began
A few of his gambling friends made a decision to expose it on television
What Benny, the boys, start’d at the old “Horseshoe” just grew and grew
In the game ole Kenny weren’t wrong, hold’em or fold’em in his song
Today, what ya see on t.v., ain’t even close to what or how it used to be
Cameras watch’n every hand, all the players cards to raise, fold or stand
Ya just know some of the ole players grin, watch’n how some try to win
players like Doyle now teach, he’s gotta be think’n you silly somebeach
Them antics might look good on t.v. but winning ain’t bout what they see
Going “all in” before the flop, ya jest might find yourself push’n a mop
Ya see there’s da turn and da river so going all in might make ya shiver
Ya got no more chips to play, your stuck, other callers to bet their way
Ya see this game ain’t bout terminology, it’s psychology in pokeology
Course time’n and luck play there part but to the end ya best play smart
or ego as confidence you display’d might be a big part of what ya say
Watch’n as yo’re jaw drops to da floor, hear’n someone say hit da door
The real winners quietly show, it ain’t what ya say, it’s what ya know
Losing at times ain’t a lot when there’s always gonna be a bigger pot
Another game, another hand, know’n deep inside YOU are the MAN!!

Sovereignty of States

It should be a concern to every taxpaying American that our federal government is no longer by or for the people within the Constitution. Those of us born and raised in Texas have seen our forefathers fight to preserve the freedoms we enjoy (exclude LBJ, not many have figured out what he was thinking except the liberals who enjoyed a bit of recognition during his time as President. Dan Rather, Bill Moyers and a few others behind the scenes). Nor George Bush(more East Cost establishment, Harvard, Princeton, Yale and Cheney puppeteer, than true Texas). Many think ill of the oil and gas business and only see the profits of the major oil companies not the hardworking independents that provide more jobs, better schools, pay more taxes and help the local economies of countless cities and counties in our State. Yes, Texas has undergone change as many have chosen to move here and call it home. We welcome those who genuinely believe in hardwork and earning a living, not something for nothing just because you are a minority. To those that work the system in their favor I suggest strongly you learn English, skill and get a job. We have a great number of hardworking, God loving Latinos(Mexicans) in our State and we always welcome them but again suggest they do all they can to be legally working here. Any group, organization or person that thrives on stirring up hatred, divisiveness or any other form of negative propaganda needs to reevaluate their priorities and do what’s best for all not just a few. Party Politics isn’t good for anyone except politicians therefore take time to study those you chose to support, know their voting record, observe and read between the lines as to their true motivation. We have some good people who start out in politics with great intentions only to be waylaid by their own party as to their political future. If and when they compromise their principles to gain political power, position or favor they are on the road to the will of the Party not the People!

One Nation unto God!

Recently we heard our President in a message to the people of Turkey say America is not a Christian nation but a nation of and for all religions. OUR Country was founded and based on Christian values and belief. Our Constitution states very clearly, "One Nation unto God". Yes we also believe in Freedom of Religion. However there is a big difference in welcoming those who do not believe in Christ or God and allowing them to worship as they so choose than saying WE aren't a CHRISTIAN NATION! I truly believe many of the problems now facing our country are due to our Country getting farther and farther aways from it's Faith, Trust, Belief and Actions as Christians. God Bless Us!

Texas Homestead Exemption Act Amendment

Texas homestead exemption tax amendment

This is important to be sure and vote for this in May even if you aren't 65 yet and you will be there one day and you would want this for yourself then.
Please read and pass on to all your Texas email friends as this applies to all voters. You must vote in May to keep the Homestead tax cap for 65 and over, even if you are not 65 yet. If you are a Texas homeowner then this is important to you. If not, it is important to your friends who are.
I am sending this email to everyone on my email address list that lives in Texas . I want to be sure you are aware of a constitutional amendment that will be on the ballot at the May election. It is an amendment to correct an error made by the lawmakers when they voted for reduction in school property taxes in 2005.
When the lawmakers voted for a one-third reduction in school property taxes beginning in 2006 and to be completed this year, they forgot about the homestead exemption for senior citizens and people with disabilities.
The state constitution caps school property taxes for homeowners 65 years and older and those who are disabled.
However, they DID NOT get the same reduction when the property tax cut for schools was voted on two years ago.
So an amendment is on the May ballot to correct this error. The problem is that most voters who are younger than 65 or not disabled probably won't even notice the amendment or care.
PLEASE get out and vote for this amendment if not for yourself, then for your parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends. We would really appreciate your getting the word out to all your friends and families to vote for this amendment... The fear is that with a low voter turnout, the amendment could very well not pass.
So, please, please pass the word and VOTE for the constitutional amendment. Early voting will take place April 30 - May 5 from 7 am to 7 PM; May 6 from noon to 6 PM and May 7 - May 8 from7am to 7 PM. Election Day is May 12 from 7 am to PM.

Thoughts

Washington D.C's latest new stamp should be "The Middle Class American Tax Payer, a dying breed".

Book titled Creatures from Jekyll Island

Everyone needs to read this book, well researched and written by G. Edward Griffin. The subtitle is A second look at the Federal Reserve.
