God Bless our Veterans
Today once again a day of tribute to those who have served our nation
So many who stood tall to protect our freedom without any hesitation
A kinship and bond as brothers in arms in their duty, honor to perform
The memories and images of Normandy, Okinawa, Korea and Vietnam
A salute to all who survived with thoughts and prayers for those who died
Least we never forget the heart in those who made the ultimate sacrifice
In honoring those you can still see it in their eyes, war does have its price
Today as our fine young men and women return from Iraq and Afghanistan
more appreciation, care, concern many Americans now better understand!
